EZ Ops announces first release of its augmented intelligence platform for oil and gas®

Edmonton, AB – October 21, 2021 –  EZ Ops, the provider of oil and gas operations software with 100 per cent adoption, has announced the first release of its augmented intelligence operations platform with new capabilities focused on recommended activity by location.

Expanding beyond the capabilities of EZ Ops existing operations software, the new platform release predicts and recommends top priority operations activity by location utilizing not only scheduled activity but by analyzing variable data including tanks level, pump activity and last site visit dates and frequency. Beta testing of the newly released feature has begun with customers and will continue over the next several months.

EZ Ops new recommended location functionality equips upstream oil and gas companies to:

  • Enable lead operators to see which locations require the most activity to best direct teams,
  • Inform operations teams with a summary activities required at a location, including which are highest priority,
  • Enable field teams to complete all priority activity at a location without repeat visits, and
  • Streamline completing work at locations with quick links to guidance on tasks and cross-off capabilities to instantly mark completion and notify teams.

“With data-driven guidance to operations teams, we’ve reduced the risk of missing critical activity at a location that can lead to downtime, increased maintenance cost or emissions risk,” explained Brandon Ambrose, CEO and Founder of EZ Ops. ”We’re lightening the cognitive load on operations teams by equipping them with intelligence to confidently do the highest value work at the right location, in the fewest hours, and with least drive time.”

EZ Ops product development team is in a process of ongoing discovery and development of the new oil and gas operations platform with beta customers including many of Canada’s most efficient and profitable producers.

“We’re excited to make this first release of our new platform, which draws upon invaluable input from customers to provide location-based intelligence that will efficiently guide operators to take the best actions each day,” explained Nic Lefebvre, Chief Product Officer and Co-founder. “This is just a first milestone in our vision but it’s rewarding to have our remarkable product team making strides to advance the energy industry.”

The vision for EZ Ops augmented intelligence platform platform is to combine data visibility with decision guidance for field operations teams to operate by exception, an emerging best practice where technology filters data and illuminates the best decisions for asset performance. Development is scheduled to run through to 2023.

In June, EZ Ops announced it received $1 million in investment from Alberta Innovates Clean Resources program to build out a data-driven prioritization engine that draws on AI and machine learning to guide oilfield workers in taking the best action each day to produce the cleanest and most profitable hydrocarbons in the world.
