EZ Ops attracts $1 million for development of its augmented intelligence platform for upstream oil and gas

Edmonton, AB – June 24, 2021 –  EZ Ops, the provider of oil and gas software for field operations management with 100 per cent adoption, has secured more than $1 million in investment from Alberta Innovates Clean Resources program to realize its vision of an augmented intelligence platform for the upstream oil and gas industry. The platform combines data visibility with decision guidance for field operations teams to operate by exception, an emerging best practice where technology filters data and illuminates the best decisions for asset performance.

“We would like to acknowledge Alberta Innovates for the support they are providing EZ Ops for our research and technology innovation,” said Brandon Ambrose, CEO and Founder of EZ Ops. “With this investment we’re able to bring our vision to market faster. We’re rapidly building out a data-driven prioritization engine that draws on AI and machine learning to guide oilfield workers in taking the best action each day to produce the cleanest and most profitable hydrocarbons in the world. This gives producers certainty that their assets are performing at their best, at the lowest cost and with the lowest carbon impact – whether their assets are managed by veteran oilfield workers or workers new to the industry.”

Already, EZ Ops oil and gas software enhances the contribution of field operations teams with ranked task lists and tools to efficiently coordinate maintenance and manage compliance along with real-time cross-team communication. EZ Ops also gives operations managers and VPs operations, engineering and production visibility on field activity, with streamlined reporting. Ten per cent of Canadian producers use EZ Ops and commonly experience OPEX reduction of more than 15 per cent, while meeting or exceeding production and compliance goals and reducing operators driving time by hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

“We’re thrilled to accelerate the development of the EZ Ops augmented intelligence platform,” explained Nic Lefebvre, Chief Product Officer and Co-founder. “We’re building out a next-generation prioritization engine that uses a complex algorithm to synthesize hundreds of factors to guide operators to the best actions to take each day. We are recruiting remarkable data scientists and software developers to make our technology more valuable to the industry, and provide oilfield workers with more fulfilling work, every day.”

EZ Ops has many of its customers engaged in piloting its augmented intelligence platform for field operations management, and has already nearly doubled the size of its product team with more hiring planned over the next 18 months. Development is scheduled to run through to 2023.
